PINE.

One of the most common timbers in use today

Description

The wood of pine is medium-weight and relatively soft. The material is strong and elastic. As with other coniferous woods, the density of the annual growth rings determines the wood’s properties: The more summerwood there is, the heavier and harder it is. It is estimated that there are more than 126 types of pine.

Properties & Uses

The wood of pine can be worked by hand or machine easily. For this reason, this wood can be a great choice for furniture projects. Due to its hardness, color, and shock-resistant properties, this material is also used for building and construction, interior furnishing, furniture, masts and poles, windows, and facade paneling.
