CEDAR.

The iconic wood, known for its beauty and spicy aroma

Description

Cedar covers several different types of wood, which share some similarities but also have some very distinct characteristics. Even in the US, Canada, and the UK, the term ‘Cedar’ describes different species depending on where you live. The term CEDAR is therefore rarely used alone. To further describe the species, lumberyards often add names such as “Western Red”, “Eastern Red”, and “Eastern White”.

Properties & Uses

Cedar Wood is a softwood with a spicy aroma and know for its natural insect-repelling properties. This is why it is used for preparing cedar oil, making fences and siding, building boats, making musical instruments, making decks, constructing high-quality furniture, etc. Due to its high durability and quality, this material is also used in harsh weather and external applications (such as interior paneling in houses around the country).
